Things to note:
1. All the quotes are originally MiA’s
2. Materials used: acrylic paint, speciality papers, buttons, and extra flourishes (ribbons, string, etc.)
3. Every piece uses buttons* along the bottom.
4. Every girl in the Perfectly Mine series wears red mary janes because they are my favorite type of shoe.
*Why so many buttons?
I love buttons because they carry us through our lives in ways we may never even think about until they are missing. For example, holding up our pants or keeping a shirt closed.
Where do I get my buttons?
Initially from my grandmother, who has sewn all her life. My first pieces used most of her buttons, now I am only able to include a couple in each piece. Today, my buttons are donated or bought from various vintage dealers.
